Introducing Lumber Expert V3: Modern, Secure, and More Connected

You may have heard that we recently announced the release of Lumber Expert Version 3. This update isn’t just a fresh coat of paint; it’s a comprehensive enhancement of the tools you rely on to run your business every day.

1. A Modern Experience

The first thing you’ll notice in V3 is a refreshed default theme and updated screens. We’ve redesigned many of our core interfaces to create a more intuitive workflow and better visuals. We’ve also launched a new Company Dashboard on the Management tab, giving leadership an instant, high-level overview of company and trader statistics.

2. Enhanced Security & Administration

Data integrity is more important than ever. V3 introduces advanced Security Administration features. You can now manage access with greater precision based on specific users, roles, and optional groups. Whether you’re protecting sensitive financial data or limiting access to functions based on the user’s job description, you have total control.

3. Strategic Inventory Management

We’ve added several “smart” features to help you manage your business more effectively:

  • Inventory Age Warnings: Avoid stagnant stock with new age-warning indicators that highlight aging products in a maroon font.
  • Reorder Points: Never run short again. You can now set reorder points for products and pull a dedicated “Inventory Reorder Report.”
  • Max Dollar Hard Stops: To help with credit and risk management, you can now set maximum dollar amounts for specific inventory locations, triggering a hard stop and notifying leadership if limits are exceeded.

4. Powerful New Integrations: Avalara & Bank Imports

Tax compliance and reconciliations just got a whole lot faster:

  • Avalara AvaTax: We have officially incorporated Avalara into Lumber Expert, automating your sales tax calculations and compliance (subscription required).
  • CSV Bank Imports: You can now download a CSV from your bank and import it directly into your Bank Reconciliation screen. No more manual entry for every transaction.

5. Smarter Order Entry & Logistics

  • Multi-Location Orders: Create a single order that ships into or out of multiple inventory locations, with full support through receiving and shipping.
  • Tally & Comment Separation: We’ve separated Tally and Comment fields to ensure cleaner data flow from order entry all the way to the final invoice.
  • Truck Dispatch Module: Enhanced available loads list allows the soliciting of one or more truckers based on customer promise date or orders marked as Ready.

6. New Features for Trader Expert

Traders haven’t been left out of the V3 rollout. The Trader Expert app now includes:

  • My To-Do List: A dedicated task manager found right on the Home tab.
  • 10-Year History: A new “My Sales/Profit Summary” button that displays sales and profit summaries for the last decade.
  • Saveable Filters: In “My Orders,” you can now save your custom filters to recall your most frequent searches instantly.
  • Looking for Something? We’ve added a powerful “Find” feature to help you track down just about anything you might be looking for, including dollar amounts.
